NextEra’s proposed $67 billion acquisition of Dominion Energy would hand control of Virginia’s electric grid to a Florida-based conglomerate with a track record of raising electric bills and aggressive political corruption. Under current law, regulators may have as little as 60 days to review the proposal, with no requirement that it actually benefit Virginians. The General Assembly needs to act now to extend the review timeline and raise the bar for approval before it’s too late.
Tell lawmakers: Virginians deserve a real review, not a rubber stamp.
