District 86

Delegate Ibraheem Samirah is a second-generation Muslim American who was born in Chicago to Palestinian refugees. When Samirah was in middle school, his father was barred from reentry into the United States after traveling to Jordan to care for his ailing mother. The family relocated to stay together while they fought for his father’s reinstatement.  Upon returning to the United States, he earned a Bachelor’s from American University and a Doctor of Dental Medicine from Boston University, and now runs his own dental practice in the DC area.
