Too Damn High: Clean Virginia Brings Elected Leaders, Candidates and Virginians Together to Fight Rising Energy Bills
RICHMOND, VA — Clean Virginia is hitting the road this fall with its first-ever statewide town hall tour, “The Energy Bills Are Too Damn High!”, bringing together elected leaders, candidates, and local advocates to engage directly with Virginians about soaring energy costs and the forces behind them.
The tour will visit:
- Manassas: Wednesday, October 15 (6:30 – 8:00 p.m.)
- Richmond: Thursday, October 16 (6:30 – 8:00 p.m.)
- Fredericksburg: Tuesday, October 21 (6:30 – 8:00 p.m.)
- Blacksburg: Thursday, October 23 (6:30 – 8:00 p.m.)
Speakers will include elected officials and candidates:
- Nominee for Lieutenant Governor: Senator Ghazala Hashmi (SD15)
- Senators: Schuyler VanValkenburg (SD16), Danica Roem (SD30), Russet Perry (SD31)
- Delegates: Michelle Maldonado (HD20), Josh Thomas (HD21), Joshua Cole (HD65), Rae Cousins (HD79)
- Candidates: Elizabeth Guzman (HD22), John McAuliff (HD30), Lily Franklin (HD41), Nicole Cole (HD66), Leslie Mehta (HD73), Kimberly Pope Adams (HD82)
- “Virginia families should not have to choose between paying their energy bills and putting food on the table,” said Brennan Gilmore, executive director of Clean Virginia. “This crisis is not inevitable. It is the result of monopoly greed, poor planning and oversight, and unfair utility influence in the political process. Together, we can demand accountability, make Big Tech pay its fair share, and build a clean, affordable energy system that works for everyone.”
