Alex Pizarro, Political Manager
Born and raised in Miami, FL, Alex is the son of an immigrant and a Peace Corps volunteer. He graduated from the University of Florida in 2018 with a bachelor’s in Political Science. After an electoral cycle with NextGen, a youth focused organization, he joined the AFSCME Political Action Apprenticeship program in Austin, Texas where he was first introduced to work in organized labor. Following the conclusion of his apprenticeship, Alex continued his labor work with the Florida AFL-CIO in Jacksonville, Florida. There, he spent nearly three years fighting to elect union-friendly candidates and stymy anti-labor policies. In his role with Clean Virginia, Alex is excited to help position the Commonwealth as a leader in clean, affordable energy by electing candidates that prioritize the needs of Virginians. Alex lives in Richmond with his partner, Rebecca, and their three cats (Korra, Luna and Penguin). When he’s not in campaign mode, you can find Alex at a concert, tending to his aquarium or (poorly) turning laps on iRacing.
