A statement from Clean Virginia Board Chair Michael Bills:
“The murder of Black people by police in this country demands accountability, consequences, and systemic reform. A statement will not begin to solve the inequity, injustice, and violence against Black communities in Virginia and the rest of the country, but it is the first part of a commitment to action. We will act in solidarity with the Black and Brown communities that receive the brunt of police brutality, suffer countless environmental injustices from corporate polluters, and struggle daily under systemic racial and economic inequality.”
