Wes Gobar, Good Governance Director
Wes Gobar co-founded BlackOak Collective, a Black environmental networking nonprofit, and Evergreen Action, a federal policy and advocacy organization. He previously served as Confidential Assistant and Executive Aide to former Virginia Attorney General Mark Herring. Originally from Fredericksburg, Virginia, Wes earned his bachelor’s degree in History from the University of Virginia and a Master of Environmental Management from the Yale School of the Environment. His writing has appeared in Vox, the Richmond Times-Dispatch, and the Washington Post. In 2022, Wes was named to the Grist 50 Climate Fixers list for emerging climate leaders.
